In 2025, Boston will welcome its first Cactus Club Cafe, marking the Canadian restaurant chain’s expansion into the U.S. Located in the Back Bay, the cafe will feature a modern dining space able to accommodate 400 guests. Recruitment for over 150 positions will begin soon, while the establishment aims to create a vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere with innovative cuisine. Anticipation among locals grows as the new dining experience prepares to launch.

Boston will welcome its first Cactus Club Cafe, a Canadian-based restaurant chain, in 2025. This new location marks the chain’s expansion into the United States and will be located in the vibrant Back Bay neighborhood. The establishment aims to provide a chic atmosphere featuring energetic music and innovative cuisine, catering to diners seeking a modern dining experience.

The Boston Cactus Club Cafe will occupy a substantial 10,000-square-foot space designed to accommodate over 325 guests. The layout will include main and private dining areas along with a lounge, and it will feature an outdoor patio that will offer additional seating. The restaurant is projected to seat approximately 400 people, with specific allocations of 234 seats inside, 160 on a year-round patio, and 80 in the lounge. The planned hours of operation will include brunch service starting at 10 a.m. on weekends, while closing times are scheduled for 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, with earlier closing hours on weekdays.

Cactus Club Cafe has announced its intention to recruit over 150 employees across various positions including culinary, service, and leadership roles to support the new location. Prospective applicants can check for job openings and information online. As for logistics, trash removal and deliveries for the restaurant will be coordinated by the building’s landlord, Oxford Properties Group, ensuring that operations run smoothly.

The Back Bay area has been strategically chosen for the restaurant, as it aligns with Cactus Club Cafe’s vision of modern dining experiences. Although the original Cactus Club, which was known for its Tex-Mex offerings and margaritas, closed in 2014 after a lengthy run at 939 Boylston St., the new Cactus Club Cafe will have no affiliation with its predecessor.

Despite some similarities in name, the Boston outlet will focus on a unique identity, incorporating contemporary dining elements that differ from what the original establishment offered. Additionally, while the atmosphere will feature ambient music at low volumes, there are no plans for live entertainment in the new venue. Instead, the restaurant’s location aims to create a lively yet relaxed environment for diners.

The site is designed with accessibility in mind, being part of a walkable neighborhood. Valet parking will not be available, but visitors can utilize the underground parking facilities nearby. This approach aligns with Cactus Club Cafe’s commitment to integrating the restaurant into the fabric of Boston’s urban landscape.

The Boston Cactus Club Cafe represents the chain’s first venture into the U.S. market, expanding its footprint as it seeks to introduce its popular brand of casual dining known for its blend of spontaneous flavors and vibrant settings. Anticipation is building as locals look forward to what the restaurant has to offer as they plan their opening for later in 2025.
