News Summary

A violent road rage incident in Roxbury involving Danielle Stokes and Jacqueline Adeyemi has resulted in charges after a 45-year-old man was injured. Stokes allegedly struck the victim on an electric scooter with her Audi SUV. The situation escalated into a physical confrontation, where both Stokes and Adeyemi threatened the victim with weapons. The injured man was later found with illegal substances, leading to further legal complications. Stokes is currently held on bail, while a warrant has been issued for Adeyemi’s arrest.

Roxbury resident Danielle Stokes, 42, has been charged following a violent road rage incident that left a 45-year-old man injured. The confrontation, which occurred on May 13 at approximately 3 a.m. at the intersection of Marvin Street and Shawmut Avenue, escalated after Stokes allegedly struck the victim, who was riding an electric scooter, with her gray Audi SUV.

According to reports, after striking the scooter rider, Stokes and her passenger, Jacqueline Adeyemi, 54, confronted the victim. Surveillance footage captures Stokes making punching motions at the man, who attempted to retreat on his scooter. The situation intensified as both Stokes and Adeyemi exited their vehicle, leading to a physical altercation between the trio.

During the confrontation, Adeyemi was observed using an unidentified object, which authorities believe could be a bat or a stick, to strike the victim. Meanwhile, Stokes allegedly brandished an object thought to be a knife and made stabbing motions toward him. Police were later informed that the victim was discovered lying on the ground, bleeding from lacerations on his forehead and hand.

The victim was promptly transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. While receiving medical attention, eight plastic bags, containing a rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine, fell from his pocket. Following this discovery, authorities indicated that the victim is expected to be summoned to court for possession with intent to distribute cocaine, classified as a subsequent offense.

The Suffolk District Attorney, Kevin Hayden, described the incident as chaotic and underscored the critical role of witnesses and surveillance footage in resolving such cases. Stokes was subsequently held on a bail of $1,000 and is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on July 14.

In relation to this incident, a warrant has been issued for Adeyemi’s arrest on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Legal proceedings are now pending against both Stokes and Adeyemi.

Separately, law enforcement officials are handling another road rage case involving 27-year-old Andrew Oprian. Oprian has been charged with smashing another motorist’s vehicle with a hatchet during a separate confrontation. Reports indicate that Oprian drove another motorist off the road, causing the vehicle to crash. Following this incident, Oprian approached the damaged vehicle and attacked it with a hatchet, shattering its windshield.

This incident also attracted attention due to the availability of surveillance cameras and cell phone videos that captured the event. Legal follow-up regarding Oprian’s dangerousness hearing is currently pending, as authorities continue to assess the risk he may pose.

This series of violent road rage incidents underscores a disturbing trend in urban driving environments, highlighting the need for increased awareness and measures to curb aggressive behavior on the roads. Both cases are being closely monitored by law enforcement, as they strive to maintain public safety and ensure that appropriate legal actions are taken.
