Lun has a proven track record in coaching women’s hockey, having led the Salve Regina team to significant achievements, including their first winning season since 2014-15. In his final season there, Salve Regina posted an overall record of 17–10–0, with a remarkable 14–4–0 record in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) play. This success allowed them to reach the conference semifinals. His work at Salve Regina also included a notable improvement in team performance, where the scoring average increased from 1.9 to 2.19 goals per game, and the goals-against average was slashed from 3.1 to 1.6 during the 2024-25 season. Due to these accomplishments, Lun received the title of NEHC Coach of the Year.
Before joining Salve Regina, Lun served as an assistant coach at Wesleyan for three seasons. During his time there, he helped the team achieve its first-ever NESCAC tournament championship and secure a spot in the NCAA tournament for the first time in 2019-20. He also has prior experience as the head coach and general manager of the Danbury Titans in the Federal Hockey League (FHL), where he managed player recruitment and roster decisions, leading the team to a record of 26-22-7-1 and a postseason appearance.
Lun is an alumnus of UMass Boston, graduating in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. He was also a standout player for the Beacons, where he excelled as a forward. His professional playing career included time with the Cape Cod Bluefins, recording 14 goals and 28 assists in the 2011-12 season, and serving as a captain for the Danbury Whalers from 2013 to 2015. Moreover, Lun holds a master’s degree in liberal studies with a focus on social sciences from Wesleyan University.
In addition to Lun’s hiring, UMass Boston announced the appointment of Moe Bradley as an assistant coach for Penn State’s women’s hockey team. Previously, Bradley served two seasons as head coach at UMass Boston with a record of 21-26-5 and won the 2024 NEHC Coach of the Year award. Bradley also worked as an assistant coach at UMass Boston and has coaching experience at Stevenson, Suffolk, and Boston College. While at Boston College, she contributed significantly as a goaltending coach, aiding in the team’s NCAA tournament appearances and helping develop an award-winning goaltender, Abigail Levy.
As a player, Bradley had an 11-11-7 record with three shutouts and a .915 save percentage during her collegiate career at UMass Boston. She transferred to UMass Boston from the University of New Hampshire after her sophomore year. This new chapter for Bradley sees her joining head coach Jeff Kampersal’s staff at Penn State along with assistants Makenna Newkirk and Jennifer Wakefield for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
