Boston—Local resident Adam Bigelow embarked on an ambitious biking journey to 92 Dunkin’ locations across Greater Boston on Friday, aiming to raise money and awareness for multiple sclerosis (MS). His motivation for this journey is deeply personal; his girlfriend, Lily Fenton, was diagnosed with MS last summer, prompting Bigelow to take action in support of her and others affected by the condition.
Bigelow began his ride at 4:30 a.m. in East Boston, covering an 80-mile route that included various neighborhoods such as Charlestown, Downtown Boston, the Seaport, South Boston, Dorchester, Hyde Park, West Roxbury, Roslindale, Jamaica Plain, the South End, Back Bay, Fenway, Allston, and Brighton. He planned to finish his ride before 7 p.m., the closing time of the last Dunkin’ location on his route.
By 10 a.m., he had already surpassed his fundraising goal of $5,000, which he had initially set at $3,000. His fundraising efforts are in preparation for the upcoming Bike MS charity ride later this month, a significant event that will take participants from Quincy to Cape Cod.
