Special presentations will feature renowned figures like Julia Quinn and Andrew Ross Sorkin. The festival will include family-oriented events, a diverse range of discussions, and aims to engage the local literary community with interactive activities and networking opportunities.

Boston will host the 17th annual Boston Book Festival on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Copley Square. This year, the festival will feature a diverse lineup of programming, including presentations and discussions led by over 200 authors spanning various genres such as fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and children’s literature. The festival is committed to providing free and accessible programming for all attendees.

Leading up to the main festival day, the event will kick off with a special presentation by Julia Quinn, the renowned author of the popular series Bridgerton, scheduled for Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Back Bay Events Center. During this session, Quinn will delve into her writing career and the process that has made her a prominent figure in contemporary romance literature. Tickets for this event will be available for $30 through the festival’s website.

On Friday, October 24, 2025, financial journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin will also take the stage to discuss his book 1929: Inside the Greatest Crash in History—and How It Shattered a Nation. This event, starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Back Bay Events Center, will have tickets priced at $60.

The festival’s main event on October 25 is expected to draw significant interest, featuring over 70 individual presentations and discussions at various venues, including the Boston Public Library, Old South Church, Trinity Church, Goethe-Institut, and the French Library. Among the marquee speakers will be Pulitzer Prize-winning author Geraldine Brooks, who will present her memoir Memorial Days: A Memoir, and crime novelist Patricia Cornwell, who will discuss her latest book Sharp Force. Additionally, Booker Prize-winning author Kiran Desai, New York Times opinion columnist Maureen Dowd, and young adult fantasy author Hafsah Faizal will be part of the insightful lineup.

One highlight of this year’s festival is the family-oriented JustKids! event, which will provide a welcoming space for young readers through interactive activities and author talks designed specifically for youth engagement.

The full schedule of the Boston Book Festival will be released in September 2025. Attendees can access detailed programming and information on the festival’s official website, bostonbookfest.org.

In addition to author presentations and discussions, the festival aims to foster community engagement and provide networking opportunities for professionals within the literary field. Local literary organizations, magazines, and independent authors will establish booths and presentations throughout the festival, creating an ecosystem of creativity and collaboration.

To enhance the festival experience, food vendors including Roxy’s Grilled Cheese and Moyzilla will be serving a variety of culinary options at the event, making it a complete day of literature and community togetherness.

The Boston Book Festival serves not only as a celebration of literature but also as a platform to connect Boston’s literary community, challenging and inspiring attendees through the storytelling prowess of featured authors. The festival endeavors to create an atmosphere where literature can thrive and individuals can share their love for books.
