Crowd enjoying the Boston Calling Music Festival with multiple stages

News Summary

The Boston Calling Music Festival will once again take place at the Harvard Athletic Complex, featuring top acts like Luke Combs, Fall Out Boy, and the Dave Matthews Band. This year’s festival will introduce a single rotating Green Stage for better crowd management and showcase local talent on two additional stages. With cashless transactions and a focus on health and safety, the festival aims to enhance the attendee experience. Ticket prices are more accessible, promoting broader participation in this celebrated music event.

Allston, MA – The 2025 Boston Calling Music Festival is set to light up the Harvard Athletic Complex over the Memorial Day weekend, taking place from May 23 to May 25, 2025. The annual event will feature an impressive line-up of more than 50 artists, with country sensation Luke Combs taking the stage as the headliner on Friday, followed by Fall Out Boy on Saturday and the Dave Matthews Band closing the festival on Sunday.

To enhance the attendee experience and improve crowd safety based on feedback from previous years, the festival has consolidated its Red and Green stages into a single rotating Green Stage. This change aims to facilitate better viewing opportunities for fans while reducing overcrowding issues. Additionally, the festival will welcome back the popular indoor arena, which will showcase performances from students of the Berklee College of Music.

The festival grounds will open at 1 p.m. daily, with music beginning shortly thereafter. The opening act on Friday, Bebe Stockwell, will start performing at 1:30 p.m. Other notable acts scheduled for Friday include Megan Moroney, T-Pain, and Sheryl Crow. On Saturday, Fall Out Boy will headline the night, complemented by opening performances from Avril Lavigne and Cage the Elephant. Sunday’s schedule will feature Vampire Weekend and Public Enemy, leading up to the Dave Matthews Band’s closing set at 8:40 p.m.

In an effort to support local talent, the festival will allocate two stages for performances by Boston and regional artists, ensuring that the event highlights the vibrant music scene in the area. The food offerings will also see an exciting revamp, showcasing over 25 local eateries, including newcomers Sally’s Apizza and Flip The Bird, along with popular returning vendors.

This year, Boston Calling will introduce a cashless experience for all transactions, allowing attendees to link their festival wristbands to debit or credit cards for easy payment. To alleviate congestion, there will be no designated parking available at the festival venue. Attendees are encouraged to utilize public transportation, with the MBTA Red Line providing access to Harvard Station. The Commuter Rail to the Boston Landing station is also an option, situated just 1.1 miles from the venue. Rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft will have designated pickup points to facilitate transportation after the event.

Festivalgoers should be aware of the event’s specific bag policy, which permits clear bags no larger than 12″x6″x12″, hydration packs, side fanny packs, and personal items. However, items such as weapons, professional recording gear, umbrellas, and outside food or drinks are strictly prohibited. Planning ahead is crucial, as large crowds are expected, and attendees should familiarize themselves with the festival layout and safety protocols.

Health and safety will be a priority during the festival, with an airport-style search conducted at all entrances and a zero-tolerance policy concerning harassment. The festival is designed to be family-friendly, with children under 10 admitted for free, making it an inclusive event for attendees of all ages.

Ticket prices for this year’s festival are more accessible than in 2024, with single-day tickets costing $178 for general admission and three-day passes available for $361. Discounts for students and military personnel will also be offered, encouraging wider participation in this beloved music festival.
