The rounds unfolded as follows: a solid first round of 290, a slightly tougher second round with a score of 300, and an improved third round of 297. The competition, which began at an early 8:30 AM on Monday and spanned into Tuesday, was a tough grind for the team.

Highlighting Individual Performances

Despite the overall challenges faced by Hartford, some players shined at the event. Freshman Nathan Tallinder from Madison, N.J., showcased his skills by finishing T24 with a total score of +8, which included impressive rounds of 69, 73, and 76. Meanwhile, senior John Guerrera from Farmington, Conn., completed the tournament in a respectable T40 position with a score of +13 after rounds of 76, 74, and 73. Even as a senior, Jack Ritchie-Roux, hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, managed to place T62 with a score of +18 after navigating rounds of 71, 84, and 73.

The challenges didn’t end there; senior Kyle St. Pierre from Shelton, Conn., finished in 65th place with scores of 74, 80, and 75, while fellow freshman Ethan Archibald from Heath, Texas, found himself sitting in T66 at +20 (76, 73, 81). The competition pushed all players to their limits, providing valuable experience as they look ahead.

What’s Next for Hartford Men’s Golf?

Although this tournament was a challenging experience for Hartford, the team is not deterred. Looking forward, the Eagles will be gearing up for their next competition at the Farmingdale State Invitational, scheduled to take place in Bethpage, N.Y., on April 19-20, 2025. With plenty of preparation and determination, the team is ready to bounce back and show what they can do.
