Both players bring strong backgrounds and impressive performances from their previous colleges. As the team prepares for the new season, there is a rising sense of optimism that these athletes will elevate the Eagles’ competitive edge and overall performance. Fans are eager to see what lies ahead for the BC women’s golf team as they strive for excellence on the course.

Boston Welcomes New Stars to Women’s Golf Team!

Boston is buzzing with excitement as the Boston College women’s golf team gears up for the 2025-26 season with the addition of two talented transfers: Tiffany Cao and Sophie Bierstorfer. This year is shaping up to be an energetic and competitive one for the Eagles, and both of these athletes are ready to make their marks.

Meet Tiffany Cao – A Texan Talent

Tiffany Cao comes all the way from Midlothian, Texas, and she has a strong background in collegiate golf. After spending four years at the University of Texas, Tiffany is ready for a new chapter in her athletic journey. She has participated in nine events and completed a total of 20 rounds throughout her time at Texas. Talk about experience!

In her final season with the Longhorns, Cao showcased her incredible skills, achieving her best performance at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge, where she finished tied for eighth with a stellar even-par score. This shows that she isn’t just a standout in practice, but she can perform under pressure too!

Not only did Tiffany manage to impress during competitions, but she also made serious improvements to her game. She posted an adjusted scoring average of 72.5 in the 2024-25 season, a remarkable leap from 76.36 in the previous year, especially after sitting out her junior year. In addition, she tied for second place at the Lady Bulldog Classic with an eye-catching three-under-par. With a degree in management information systems freshly in hand, Tiffany is all set for her final season and eager to shine under the guidance of Director of Golf Drew Kayser.

Introducing Sophie Bierstorfer – A Global Perspective

Next, we have Sophie Bierstorfer, hailing from the picturesque city of Munich, Germany. Sophie recently played for the University of Tennessee during the 2024-25 season, competing in four tournaments and totaling 11 rounds. Her adjusted scoring average stood at a respectable 74.9, showcasing her potential to be a force on the course.

Throughout her sophomore year, her best performance was a 30th place finish at the Cavalier Regional Preview, where she posted a season-low round of 68. Impressive, right? However, this isn’t her first rodeo as this transfer marks her third stop, having previously played at Miami where she had a strong scoring average of 73.9 across three tournaments.

What Lies Ahead for Eagles Golf

It’s been a mixed bag for the Eagles in previous seasons. Last year, they finished 11th at the ACC Championship in Greensboro, NC, but they took home their best-ever tournament result during the Red Bandanna Invitational in September 2024, where they snagged first place at their home course, Blue Hills Country Club in Canton, Massachusetts.

With the addition of Tiffany and Sophie, the Boston College women’s golf team is looking stronger than ever. As they prepare to tackle the upcoming season, there’s an air of optimism and anticipation surrounding the Eagles. The combination of experience, talent, and fresh perspectives from these two transfers may very well help elevate the BC golf program to new heights.

Golf fans and supporters are excited to watch Tiffany Cao and Sophie Bierstorfer compete in their new uniforms, and they can’t wait to see the incredible outcomes they’ll produce on the fairway. Here’s to a thrilling season ahead and all that it has to offer for the Eagles!
