The Mariano family making memories together during their vacation in Mexico.
The Mariano family’s vacation in Cabo San Lucas took an unexpected turn when 14-year-old Carina suffered a health scare after an incident with a prickly plant. Rushed to the hospital, doctors found excess fluid in her knee. Thankfully, after treatment, Carina recovered, and the family continued to enjoy their time together, celebrating her recent middle school graduation. Despite the scare, they made beautiful memories during their trip, proving the strength of familial bonds even amidst challenges.
In the beautiful beaches of Cabo San Lucas, the Mariano family was all set to bask in the sun and enjoy their long-awaited vacation. However, this sunny getaway took an unexpected turn when Boston Rob Mariano’s 14-year-old daughter, Carina, faced a sudden health scare after a plant incident on the golf course.
While soaking up the fun on their family trip, Carina got accidentally poked by a plant known as El Datilillo, famously referred to as “The Spanish Dagger.” This prickly little plant doesn’t play nice, and unfortunately, Carina experienced a severe reaction, leaving her in significant pain and discomfort. The beautiful course suddenly became a place of concern for the family.
On June 16, the family’s vacation was interrupted as they rushed Carina to the hospital. The doctors promptly conducted an ultrasound to investigate the source of her pain. They were hoping to find her spine but ended up discovering excess fluid inside her knee near the injury site. It was a nerve-wracking moment for the entire family, especially for Rob and his wife, Amber.
After diagnosing her condition, the doctors prescribed Carina a course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories to help alleviate her pain and reduce the inflammation. Thankfully, her situation improved quickly, and she felt much better after receiving the necessary medical treatment. With a bandage wrapped around her leg, Carina was seen using crutches but still managed to keep her spirits high!
Even after the hospital visit, the Mariano family refused to let the scare dampen their vacation vibes. They continued to make the most of their time in Mexico, sharing laughter and joy while participating in a fun social media trend together. The bond they share is not only strong but filled with love, proving to everyone just how essential family time and togetherness truly are.
This trip was also a way for the family to celebrate Carina’s recent achievements. Just before their escape to Mexico, she graduated from middle school and even received a Leadership award—an accomplishment that proud papa Rob was excited to celebrate with her. Besides Carina, the family includes three other daughters—Lucia (15), Isabetta (13), and Adelina (10)—making it a bustling home filled with love and laughter.
Rob Mariano’s celebrity status adds an extra layer of intrigue to their family outings. The reality TV star shared that sometimes, his daughters feel uncomfortable with the attention that comes from his fame, especially from their peers. Nonetheless, this vacation offered them a chance to reconnect away from the spotlight while creating beautiful memories together.
This unfortunate incident took place shortly after Father’s Day, where Rob had just enjoyed a relaxing day on the beach and some golfing. Although this vacation started with a scare, the family is determined to cherish every moment, proving that even in the face of adversity, their love and dedication to one another remains unwavering.
The Mariano family’s ability to rally together during moments of surprise has only strengthened their bond. Here’s hoping that the remainder of their vacation is filled with sunshine, laughter, and the best possible memories!
