Boston’s annual LGBTQ+ Pride celebration is scheduled for Saturday, June 14, 2025, with a focus on resilience and awareness under the theme “Here to Stay.” Despite early weather concerns forecasting light showers and cooler temperatures, organizers expect more than 1 million attendees to gather for this vibrant event.
The parade will commence at 11 a.m. from Copley Square, winding through the streets and culminating at Boston Common by 12:30 p.m. As the morning progresses, rain is anticipated to taper off, leading to dry conditions by the afternoon. Though temperatures are expected to linger in the mid- to upper 50s and skies will likely remain mostly cloudy, attendees are encouraged to embrace the spirit of community and solidarity.
After the parade, a lively festival will take place on Boston Common from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., showcasing a variety of performers. The festival will be headlined by acclaimed New Orleans singer and rapper Big Freedia. Local talent such as RLETTO and The Iconic Divas, as well as a host of other artists, will also grace the stage, ensuring an entertaining afternoon for all.
In addition to the parade and festival, a separate 21+ block party will occur at City Hall Plaza from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Attendees of this event will be treated to DJ sets, live performances, and beverages sourced from New England breweries, making it a perfect way for adults to partake in the festivities.
The parade’s route will lead to road closures early Saturday morning, and attendees are advised to use public transportation due to limited parking availability in the area. Various city transit options will be available to accommodate the influx of participants.
The organizing body for this year’s celebration, Boston Pride for the People, was formed following the disbandment of the previous Boston Pride organization in 2021, which faced challenges around inclusion. This newly established committee is committed to fostering an inclusive environment for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Notably, Mass 50501 will participate in the parade, calling for attendees to carry protest signs advocating against the increasing political hostility facing the community. This encourages both awareness and activism during the event.
Last year’s parade enjoyed favorable weather conditions, with temperatures reaching the mid-70s and no rain in sight. This year’s forecast presents a stark contrast, but organizing committees remain optimistic that the love and spirit of Pride will shine through, rain or shine.
