Four individuals have been convicted for their roles in a sex trafficking operation in Boston that spanned multiple brothels. The complex trial revealed the exploitation of women, primarily from Central and South America, and the extensive criminal network behind these activities. The group was involved in trafficking women primarily from Central and South America, exploiting them in four separate brothels situated in East Boston, Chelsea, and Lynn. Customers frequented these establishments, paying for sexual services provided by the women trafficked through this ring on a daily basis.
The verdicts against the four defendants came after a lengthy examination of their actions. Cristina Lasso faced several serious charges, reflecting the scale of her involvement. These included four counts of trafficking persons for sexual servitude, four counts of maintaining a house of prostitution, four counts of keeping a house of ill fame, and one count of money laundering. In a similar vein, Jorge Lasso was convicted of one count of trafficking persons for sexual servitude and one count of money laundering. Meanwhile, José Deblas faced multiple charges, including one count of trafficking persons for sexual servitude, two counts of maintaining a house of prostitution, two counts of keeping a house of ill fame, and one count of money laundering. Lastly, Marlon Nagano received convictions for one count of trafficking persons for sexual servitude, one count of maintaining a house of prostitution, two counts of keeping a house of ill fame, and one count of money laundering.
It is important to note that back in 2019, nine individuals were initially charged in this case, highlighting the extensive network involved in these deplorable activities. As it currently stands, the four convicted individuals are set to face the consequences of their actions, with their sentencing scheduled for May 2.
