Dedham, Massachusetts – Four juveniles were arrested late Friday night for multiple motor vehicle thefts, as well as firearms-related offenses. The arrests followed a police pursuit after the group, who had arrived via a rideshare vehicle, was encountered on a dead-end street in Dedham.

Prior to the arrests, State Police discovered two stolen vehicles in a parking lot. A Honda CR-V, reported stolen from Braintree, and a Jeep Cherokee, reported stolen from Milton, were found in close proximity to where the arrests took place. As the rideshare vehicle approached the area, police noticed it turning around, leading to a subsequent traffic stop.

While attempting to approach the rideshare vehicle, officers observed frantic movements by several passengers inside. One juvenile exited the backseat and fled from the scene. Authorities managed to detain three other juveniles at the location. The fourth individual was apprehended later by Boston police on River Street.

A search of the rideshare vehicle yielded alarming findings. Police uncovered four unlicensed firearms located near the area where the juveniles were seated. Among the recovered firearms, one was equipped with a device that allows it to function like a machine gun. Additional firearms were discovered in subsequent searches, including several that were equipped with large capacity magazines.

During the arrest, one juvenile was found carrying a 40MM round, further deepening the severity of the charges facing the group. The rideshare driver claimed she was unaware that she was transporting individuals involved in criminal activities.

All four juveniles involved in the incident had outstanding warrants for previous offenses, including home invasion and illegal firearm possession. They are now being charged with several serious offenses, including possession of a loaded machine gun, possession of a large-capacity feeding device, and possession of a firearm without a Firearms Identification (FID) card. One juvenile is facing an additional charge of resisting arrest.

A bail commissioner has mandated that all four juveniles be held without bail, ensuring they remain in custody as the legal proceedings unfold. Following their arrest, they have been transferred to the Department of Youth Services for further processing.

The State Police expressed their appreciation for the collaborative efforts extended by the Dedham and Boston Police Departments during the investigation, highlighting the importance of teamwork in tackling youth crime in the area.

This story remains unfolding, with authorities continuing to gather information and evidence. Updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
