Webster Community Mourns the Loss of Beloved Mother and Friend, Martha H. Bouffard

Last Saturday, June 28, 2025, the town of Webster bid farewell to a cherished member of their community, Martha H. Bouffard. At 88 years young, Martha was not just a devoted mother but a symbol of kindness and resilience who touched the lives of many.

Martha passed away peacefully at the Brookside Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Webster, where she had spent her final days surrounded by compassionate care. Born in Ayer, MA, Martha was the daughter of the late William Robert and Eva Margery (Robbins) Henry. While she spent her early life in Ayer, it was in Worcester where she really made her mark, contributing to the local community as both a dedicated worker and loving neighbor.

A Lifelong Legacy

Martha was a long-time employee at H.H. Brown Shoe Company in Worcester, where she dedicated over 29 years of her life. After retiring, she took great joy in pursuing her hobbies, ranging from crocheting and sewing to indulging in a good book and solving tricky crossword puzzles. Many in the community will remember Martha as a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and a keen enthusiast of golf, often found cheering for her favorite players on television.

Family was everything to Martha. She is survived by her five loving children: John E. Bouffard and his wife Deeanne of Dudley; Catherine E. Jacob and her husband Kevin of Easton, PA; Ruth A. Gregoire of Sturbridge; Marjorie L. Lavallee and her husband John of Rochdale; and Linda J. Rowley and her husband John of Sturbridge. Additionally, Martha was blessed with six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom adored their “Nana.” The warmth she shared with her family extended to numerous nieces and nephews, who will forever treasure their memories with her.

Fond Memories and Community Impact

Throughout her life, Martha exuded warmth and a nurturing spirit. She relished in spending time at the beach with loved ones and rarely missed a chance to cheer on her grandchildren at their various sporting events. Those who knew her say she always had a smile on her face and a friendly word for anyone who crossed her path. Her spirit would light up any room, and her laughter was infectious.

Martha was preceded in death by her brothers, William and Richard Henry, and her sister, Ruth Huxley. While their absence was deeply felt, Martha’s family and friends will carry on her legacy of love and community spirit.

A Final Farewell

A funeral service to honor Martha’s life and contributions to the community will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Paradis-Givner Funeral Home located at 357 Main St., Oxford, MA. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects during a calling hour, which will run from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the service begins.

After the service, Martha will be laid to rest at the Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, where she will be remembered not just in memory but in the hearts of all who loved her.

In lieu of flowers, her family encourages friends and community members to consider making a contribution to the March of Dimes at 1550 Crystal Dr, Suite 1300, Arlington, VA 22202. This is a fitting tribute to honor Martha’s legacy of caring for others in need.

As Webster comes together to celebrate the life of Martha H. Bouffard, it is a reminder of the impact one person can have on their family and community. Martha will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.
