The 2025 NFL Draft saw five players from Massachusetts make it to the professional level, marking a significant increase from previous years. Notably, Massachusetts ranked 14th in the nation for drafted players, surpassing several states in the Southeastern Conference. Green Bay, WI – The 2025 NFL Draft, held at Lambeau Field, witnessed a significant achievement for Massachusetts high schools, with five players making their way to the professional level. This marks a notable increase compared to the previous years, where only two players were drafted in 2024 and none in 2023.

This achievement places Massachusetts in a tie for the 14th position in the nation for the number of players drafted, alongside Pennsylvania, Arizona, Kansas, and Washington. Notably, Massachusetts outperformed several states from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in terms of player selections, surpassing Missouri (4), Mississippi (3), Tennessee (3), Arkansas (1), Oklahoma (1), and Kentucky (1).
Among New England states, Massachusetts was the only one with multiple players selected, while Connecticut had one representative, LSU guard Miles Frazier, who was drafted by the Detroit Lions from Milford Academy.
As the draft unfolded, Texas dominated the selection with 37 players, followed by Florida (26), Georgia (22), California (16), and Louisiana (10). Notably, Louisiana also led the country in drafted players per capita, boasting 10 players per a population of approximately 4.66 million.
The New England Patriots were active in this year’s draft, selecting a total of 11 new players, beginning with LSU left tackle Will Campbell, taken fourth overall. The Patriots’ strategy focused on bolstering both offensive and defensive positions to enhance their roster effectively.
One of the standout players, Drew Kendall, who was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fifth round, earned first-team All-ACC honors during his collegiate career. He impressively played 31 consecutive games without allowing more than two sacks in a season, showcasing his skills and consistency at the center position.
The culmination of the 2025 NFL Draft was marked by the Eagles drafting their final pick, Memphis cornerback Kobee Minor, as “Mr. Irrelevant” at No. 257.
