Golf enthusiasts and community supporters are polishing their clubs and getting ready to hit the greens for the 5th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, organized by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office (SRO). This eagerly anticipated event is set to take place on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Whether you’re an avid golfer or just looking for a fun day out, this tournament is one you won’t want to miss!
Golfers will have the chance to choose between two tee times. The first group will head out with a 7:45 a.m. shotgun start, while the second group will take to the course at 1:45 p.m.. This setup means you can pick the time that works best for you and your friends. Make sure to sign up early, especially for those coveted morning slots that tend to fill up quickly!
One of the highlights of this year’s tournament has to be the amazing lunch options. Participants can enjoy a savory meal served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Highlights of the lunch menu include smoked wings, smoked ribs, and smoked Boston pork shoulders. Who wouldn’t want to refuel with such delectable offerings while supporting a great cause?
All proceeds from the tournament will go towards a fantastic project—a “Fun Fair” designed specifically for special needs students in Rutherford County Schools. Your participation directly contributes to creating memorable experiences for these deserving kids, making each swing of the club count!
It costs $400 to enter as a four-person team. This entry fee includes a golf cart, lunch, range balls, and the chance to enjoy a day filled with camaraderie and friendly competition. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to play while making a positive impact in the community.
Of course, it’s not just about having fun on the course; there are some amazing prizes up for grabs! Awards will be given for both first and second places in both the morning and afternoon competitions. Plus, golfers can showcase their skills in contests for the longest drive and closest to the pin. There’s plenty of excitement in store!
For those looking to contribute even more, there are various sponsorship opportunities available! Corporations can step up with a $1,000 corporate sponsorship that includes team recognition and a Mulligan package. For just $500, you can secure a Gold sponsorship with team recognition. Additionally, personal donations are welcome at any amount, and hole sponsorships can be had for $125, which includes signage at a tee box to show your support.
Ready to join the fun? Make sure to get your registration and sponsorship checks made out to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Citizens Academy Alumni Association (RCSCAAA). You can send these checks to Sgt. Dustin Cox at the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, located at 940 New Salem Highway, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. Don’t forget to write “SRO” in the memo line!
Mark your calendar and polish your clubs—it’s going to be a delightful day of golf for a great cause. We can’t wait to see everyone there!
