Pappalardo faces a total of nine charges: four counts of rape, two counts of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, two counts of assault and battery, one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and one count of intimidating a witness. Currently, Pappalardo is being held without bail. A dangerousness hearing, meant to assess his potential threat to the public, is scheduled for Friday morning. In November 2022, he was honored with the Medal of Valor at the 33rd Annual Firefighter of the Year Awards for his exemplary service.
