BOSTON, Mass. — The Boston Bruins came back from two goals down in the third period Saturday afternoon and beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-4 in overtime, with Elias Lindholm scoring the winner to stretch Boston’s home winning streak to five games.

Chicago led 4-2 after goals from Ryan Greene at 9:38 and Connor Bedard at 12:20 of the third. Mason Lohrei cut the gap at 13:06, and Morgan Geekie tied it with a slap shot with 12 seconds left in regulation, his second goal of the season. Charlie McAvoy finished with two assists, and John-Jason Peterka set up both late goals.

David Pastrnak opened the scoring on a first-period breakaway. It was the 428th goal of his career, moving him past Patrice Bergeron into third place alone on the franchise list. Casey Mittelstadt also scored for Boston in the second period, tying the game 2-2 when he took a pass from James Hagens and beat Chicago goalie Arvid Soderblom.

Anton Frondell scored twice for Chicago, including a power-play goal just 11 seconds after Will Borgen went to the box for delay of game. The Blackhawks had arrived with the weakest power play in the league.

Goaltender Michael DiPietro, fresh off his first NHL shutout, got the start and kept Boston close while the Bruins were outshot 28-13 through two periods, including a close-range stop on Patrick Kane in the second.

Coach Marco Sturm shuffled the lineup before the matinee as Boston tried to end a two-game skid that included a 4-1 loss in St. Louis. Sean Kuraly drew in for Matt Poitras up front, and Jonathan Aspirot replaced Connor Clifton on defense.
